About
A steadier way through
the weeks after a breakup.
Reorient is a UK app that turns what research knows about breakup recovery into something you can use on the hard days: a timeline fitted to you, a daily check-in, a journal and tools for the worst moments.
Why Reorient exists
After a breakup, most advice is either a list of platitudes or a promise to get your ex back. Neither helps much at 2am. Researchers have studied how people recover from breakups for decades: how intense it gets, why it comes in waves, and why contact with an ex tends to keep it going. Reorient puts that research into a daily companion, so you can see where you are and what tends to help next.
How we write and check our content
Research first, and named.
When Reorient tells you what research found, we say who found it, and we check it against the paper itself. If the evidence is thin or mixed, we say so. Where something is our own judgement, like the size of a timeline adjustment or plain everyday advice, we say that too.
No fixed deadlines.
Timelines in the research are averages across groups. Reorient fits an estimate to your situation and treats it as a guide, never a deadline you’ve failed to meet.
Never a tactic to win someone back.
No contact in Reorient is there to help you recover. We won’t help anyone persuade, track or win back an ex.
Safety over selling.
Crisis links and the hard-moment tools are free for everyone, always. Prompts to upgrade go quiet after a very low check-in or a hard moment.
Honest about what it is.
Reorient is a wellbeing tool. It isn’t therapy or a medical device, and it doesn’t diagnose or treat any condition. When things feel unmanageable, it points you to real support.
Your words stay yours.
Journal entries and private notes are encrypted with a key from your password, so no one at Reorient can read them. You can export or delete everything, any time.
The studies behind the timeline and tools are on The science. Plain answers to common questions are in the FAQ. Content was last reviewed on 1 October 2026.
